Manufacturing’s role in delivering on Circa’s promise
By Philipp Morgenthaler, Head of Manufacturing
It’s no secret that I’m not a chemist. But at Circa, I don’t need to be. There is already so much chemistry expertise in the team. The reason I joined the company is to help deliver on Circa’s promise to build the ReSolute plant in France and subsequent plants with a capacity of 80,000 tonnes annual production of Cyrene™. ReSolute will come online at the end of 2023 and we are preparing for subsequent plants in parallel.
Building and running plants is what I like to do. I’ve been doing it all over the world for a couple of decades. In my previous role, I worked on PVC blister packaging films for the pharmaceutical industry. Before that, I was in the automotive sector.
I’ve always wanted to join a company early on, to contribute to building a sustainable business. With Circa it goes even further. We’re not just building a sustainable business and a sustainable product, we’re building something which can contribute to a more sustainable future and impact a whole range of other industries. As Head of Manufacturing, I’m responsible for making sure the plants come online on time and on budget.
Living in Switzerland, we live really close to nature. I spend my free time enjoying nature by hiking and mountain biking. Working for a company that is changing chemistry for good ties in perfectly with my own values and my concern about taking care of future generations and the beautiful planet we live in and need to take care of.
Circa is a story of sustainability, with sustainability at the centre of everything it does. I believe there is a lot of potential for Circa in the future and I’m excited to be part of it.
